Almost a year already?!?!?

Yup, this Sunday marks one year since Kendra made her presence known to us all. She came early in the morning on August 31st, 2007. Our family has not been the same since. Never will be. We have that much more love. In the last year we have been through some rough times and a lot of good times. I have many, many more friends (ok, so they are online, but hey, they are there for me). Kendra has grown by leaps and bounds. She is just under 20 lbs, but full of life and energy. She is always smiling. One tooth so far, but she is working on more. Last weekend we had her first 1st birthday party in Lapaz with my family and we had a great time. She really loved the balloons, 72 of them blown up and on the floor for her to play in and try to eat! She had her Hershey's bar compliments of Unlce Lynn, ate her cake like a puppy, face first. She played with her toys, cuddled with family, and towards the end, she TOOK HER FIRST STEPS! Two, maybe two and a half steps, but it was great! The following day we had a family reunion with my late grandfathers side of the family. Kendra and my great Uncle Melvin really hit it off. He had so much fun playing with her after lunch, and she just laughed and smiled. It actually brought tears to my eyes to see Grandpa's brother playing with her knowing that Grandpa himself never had that opportunity with Kendra or Allie. I treasure the picture of him and Missy at her 1st birthday. It was a great weekend between the party, her first steps, and the reunion.
We are having a birthday party at our house for her next weekend with friends and family. This weekend Patrick and I are going to the Blueberry Festival. I grew up going to it and he has never had the experience. I cannot wait to see his reaction to the festival! It is the largest festival I have ever been to, and there are so many things to see and do.
Well, back to work. I'll add pictures from last weekend when I get home.

a day of rest? haha

I'm home today with only 2 kids, and you would think that would be more quiet than usual... I wish! Kendra is supposed to be taking a little nap, but instead is in her crib chattering and yelling for dadadadadada... guess that's one good thing about her not saying mama yet. Allie is bringing all her toys to the living room and making it her play spot for all the babies. so far I have 2 dolls in strollers, a cat in a carrier, and another cat in a baby carrier, and her baby diaper bag all here in front of me. I have laundry on both sides of me to fold, with about 4 or more loads to wash today. We had Orkin here yesterday to spray the house, so hopefully that helps with the little buggers that Tigger brought in. I've been vaccuuming every chance I get, so the floors look pretty dang good! LOL, now i have barbies laying across my chest..haha. Oh the life of a 4 yr old! She is just going going going!
Missy went to her dad this weekend for the first time in..oh.. 4 months maybe? He called wanting to see her and she has been crying to see him so I let her go as long as he didn't stay at his moms with her. AFTER I had agreed to letting her go, I find out he has a new girlfriend. Go figure, time to act like a dad again to impress the gf. Poor girl, she will learn. She is young, has a job and some money, all of which will be gone by the time he is done with her. It's the way he is, finds them that way, and leaves them broke, no job or a crappy one, screwed up credit, and depressed, lonely and thinking, what the hell was I thinking going with him??? lol. I truely feel sorry for her. I give him 3 months before he cheats on her. 4 months before she loses either her car or her job. God forbid he convinces her to move into his moms with him. Anyways, nothing against the girl, but I told him he is NOT to have her around Missy all the time, she is NOT to stay the night, etc. We'll see what happens. Missy will tell me. I knew there had to be some reason he suddenly wanted her back, and I was right. He had to show off and pretend to be a good daddy to impress the new gf. I cried on the way home from dropping her off, my stomach was wrentching. I hate her being gone, with him. I just know he isn't taking care of her, someone else is. He isn't spending time with her, he's just trying to impress the gf.
Anywho, Kendra is out of her crib now, playing on the living room floor surrounded by not only her toys, but Allies dolls and toys. I better get busy on that laundry, and I have ppl coming to look at the stuff I want to get off my front porch! YAY! I hope they take it!

Waiting game...

We went to court Tuesday, and after a lot of the truth came out, then came the lies spouting out of her mouth. Where does she get off telling the judge that Patrick told her at one time that 'there would come a time when she would barely see her son'? Bullcrap, he never said that, it's not even something he would ever think. She didn't even know when it was said, her lawyer had to answer it for her... such bs. The judge is taking his time to decide, he has until Friday the 22nd to make his ruling. How can any mother think it is ok to live with someone who has been to jail for theft, drugs, and sexual misconduct with a minor? The guy is on the sex offender registry for crying out loud! He is still on probation. OMG... what is she thinking. As the lawyer says, if she wants to live with the devil, fine, but Stephen doesn't need to when he has this home to be in.

Oh well, it's all in the judges hands now. Now we wait.

Bad day/week

I have had a really rough week. I'm sure it will all pass, it usually does, but today has been so overwhelming that I just cry at the drop of a hat. Between work and the household demands I've had enough. Then add to it, child support not coming in, car repairs, finding out the old pediatrician didn't give Allie bug any of her shots, having to take her to get 'caught up' on shots, trying to fight an infestation of fleas in the house thanks to animals who like to go outside and not stay in the yard. Laundry is mounting, so many things need done. Whenever I try to get something accomplished, someone calls for me. I can't even talk on the phone this week without someone yelling for me, interupting, blah blah blah. I just give up. I need 5 clones to get everything done. Well, looks like I need to get Miss Missy ready for her swim party, doesn't look like her ride is coming. Another place to go and thing to do.

Anyone know a good doctor to clone me?

Even a mediocre one will do.

Where?

Sometimes I wonder where I belong in the workplace. Since moving to my new position, I don't seem to 'fit' anywhere. The girls up front have their little cliques, go out shopping, to concerts, etc. The girls in the back that I used to work directly with are going out also. Guess I just feel a little left out, they were talking about what a good time they had last night when they all went out bowling. I never got even an invitation. I couldn't have went anyways, but an invite is always nice.
On another note, while at the pool for a birthday party Missy was invited to, I was invited to a Labor day cookout by another mom. Progress? I need some social interaction with adults. :)
